After a string of acclaimed EPs and singles, South London-based DJ/producerKeplrrbrings his distinctive approach to music-making and unique ear for sound design to the forefront across his debut album 'Petra', a single continuous piece with many recurring musical themes and motifs. Inspired by psychotherapeutic theory, dream states, and the gap between consciousness and the psychedelic, 'Petra' sees Keplrr delving deep into the wells of the subconscious. The album moves deftly through meandering ambient/downtempo compositions, including collaborations with classically trained Jazz singerLivi Graham, to the deep & techno-influenced 'Two Prophets Lay Here', before reaching its crescendo in the IDM-inflected 'Celestial Body'.

"After writing dance music for 10 years it was so liberating to create something that has no function. I was in between flats and staying with friends when I wrote the bulk of this. The writing was therapeutic - it felt like I was trying to capture the feeling of that moment rather than write with a listener or dancer in mind."-Keplrr

Keplrr's debut release onControl Freakin 2019 drew support from DJs such asBen UFO,Saoirse,Minor ScienceandOr:la, who signed a collaborative track with fellow South London artistMax Winterfor her labelCéad. Following this, Keplrr has taken a selective approach when releasing new music, delivering an EP forControl Freakin 2020 and tracks onPressure Dome&Needs.

Control Freak Recordingsis an independent, London-based record label founded in 2019, born out of the popularCabin Feverparties. In its early years, the label presented a string of club-focused releases which bridge the gap between leftfield techno & bass music, working with artists includingSyz,Guava,Yushh&Kincaid. Label foundersCustomer Service&Finnamanalso form a production & DJ duocontrol freak.
